Module 4
This week's readings were on chapters 9, 10 and 11. Chapter 9 focuses on "complex cognitive processes" in regards to metacognition, problem solving, critical thinking, learning strategies, teaching for complex and transfer learning. Chapter 10 introduced topics such as constrictuvism, learning environments, collaboration and cooperation along with designing adequate learning environments that embrace constructiveness practice. Chapter 11 gave us an introduction to wonderful topics such as the social cognitive theory, modeling as a result of observing, and self regulating skills and theories.
Chapter 10 introduces various forms of technology that can be integrated in the classroom setting to maximize learning time. For example an educator can created a lesson and take advantage of the Flipped classroom strategy. Educators can make usage of pictures to better explain concepts to the young learners. in a flipped learning strategy, one has to stated the learning objective and standard at the beginning of the presentation for clarification. Pictures, limited text and voice all have to be incorporated to make the strategy precise and complete. Making usage of the flipped classroom strategy saves classroom time for discussion and a hands on project. As an educator I was able to learn on proper usage of technology tools to assist me as a teacher.
In a previous class I was able to put together a flip project and it was of great benefit to my persona. When I first heard about the flipped classroom I was thrill to find out how beneficial it could be from a more personal experience. Conducting this flip classroom project made me realize that implementing technology beyond the classroom setting is of great benefits for the students. Using this strategy children can be given a heads up as to what will be learned and any language barriers can be targeted. I learned a new method to implement in my future role as an educator. I was able to see how beneficial a flip classroom can be for ESL, bilingual and dual-language learners. This type of strategy also aids parents when children need extra support at home. Children can review as much as needed at home and as a result class time can be used more wisely to approach any challenges and work on hands on projects.

flipped classroom can be good but as teachers sometimes we want to see the face-to-face interactions, especially when delivering lectures. Its good to see the body language and facial expressions of the students to see if their are understanding. As teacher if we see that their initial approach is not working, they will change their teaching strategy. With video lectures, teachers do not get the same sort of feedback. Students also lose the ability to ask for immediate clarifications when they don’t understand something. But with Flipped classroom they can be many benifits, students value responsibility and take ownership of their own actions. These students, who do understand the material, can continue without having to wait for other students and teachers. Also, because video lectures are available 24/7, students can go back whenever they want to look over information, and review the material. So it has it good and bad.
